Extend your potato harvest – or just harvest more of them – with these helpful growing tips…

Potatoes are an easy (and fun) crop to grow, but there are a number of things you can do to increase your potato harvest. Potatoes can be grown in the ground the traditional way, or you can also use no-dig methods such as sheet mulching or growing in hay or straw bales (my favorite). Either way, they will need plenty of water (especially during the first couple of months), as well as a fair amount of compost, as potatoes are heavy feeders.

The short video below describes a few different ways to plant potatoes for an excellent harvest, as well as some techniques for an earlier harvest – or enjoy an extended harvest into the fall.
