[Video] 5 Quick-Growing Veggies You Can Harvest in 30 Days or Less
Plant these quick-growing veggies now for a bountiful fall harvest in just a few weeks!
Summer may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean gardening season is over! In fact, fall can be an incredibly successful and productive time to garden. Here in central Ohio with our uncertain weather and early hot springs in recent years, fall is actually one of the best times to plant a garden.
The trick is knowing when to start your fall crops. Too early and they’ll bolt in the late summer heat; too late and they won’t have time to mature before freezing temperatures arrive. If you can figure out this balance, you’ll be well on your way to a very successful fall harvest.
Even in early September, you may still have time to plant some crops – as long as you choose quick-growing veggies that will mature in just a few weeks. Radishes, lettuce, and some greens may all do well, and in some areas, even crops such as cabbages and carrots may still be able to mature in time for winter.
This short video shares some ideas for quick-growing crops that can be ready in as little as 30 days. Get these in the ground now, and you’ll be enjoying a harvest before Halloween!
