Fall is here, and it’s time to pick the rest of your tomatoes, before frost sets in! Here are a few helpful tips for making the most of your remaining tomato harvest.

I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful summer full of fresh garden produce! It was a tricky garden season here in Ohio – very hot and dry – and the tomatoes suffered a bit, but we still managed a great tomato crop.

Whether you also had a great crop which is now dwindling, or you are babying your plants along to get a few more fruits at the end of the season, you will want to make sure when harvesting the last of your tomatoes that you do so carefully, to make them last as long as possible.

There are also a few things you can do to make your plants ripen up some of those remaining green ones faster, before frost hits.
