How to harvest & store onions

If you grew onions this year, you may be wondering what is the best way to harvest and store them for the winter. This video shares some helpful tips.

We grew onions for the first time this year, and despite the hot and dry weather (or because of it?) they did very well, and we got quite a few large and beautiful onions! A few weeks ago, the tops starting dying down, so I was wondering when I should harvest them, and if I needed to do anything special to prepare them for storage.

I found this short video very helpful. It explains when to harvest, how to “cure” your onions for long-term storage, and even how to string them in a neat hanging spiral!
