How to grow onions

Watch this quick video to learn how to grow a beautiful crop of onions in your garden this year…

Depending on where you live, it’s almost onion-planting time! Onions are one of the most useful crops in my opinion, and we have been growing them every year since I first discovered how easy they are to grow from seed here. Not only can you use onions in just about every kind of dish, but when properly cured and stored, they can last well into the winter months, which makes them a must-grow vegetable in my book!

There are a number of different options for growing onions, but regardless of which method you choose, they all require similar care in the garden once planted.

Also, a quick note from my experience: if you find that one planting method doesn’t work well for you, don’t give up – try something else. I have found that onion sets do absolutely nothing for us here, but onions planted from seed grow like the dickens! Don’t be afraid to try a few different methods and discover which one works best for you.
