How to grow leeks

Leeks are a delicious and hardy crop to add to your garden for the next growing season! Here are some tips to help you grow a great leek crop…

Leeks are a delicious, mild member of the onion family with a long, white stalk and tender green leaves that look lovely in the garden, and taste even lovelier in a pot of hot winter potato soup!

They are generally quite easy to grow, although they do have a long growing season. Fortunately, they are very hardy, so you can grow them right into – or sometimes even all the way through – the winter.

The quick video below shares some tips for planting, growing, harvesting, and enjoying your own leeks.

If you haven’t grown leeks before, why not add them to your garden plan for next growing season? You will need to start them early in the spring in most locations, so be sure to pick up some seed over the winter.
