If you live in an area where you can’t garden during the winter, you may long for the fresh, nutritious veggies that you can harvest during the summer months. Spring can seem so far away when you’re pining for fresh salad greens while the snow flies outside… But the good news is, growing your own sprouts and microgreens is surprisingly simple – and they are extremely delicious and high in nutrients!
In fact, they may be even more nutrious than your garden-variety veggie. According to The Grow Network, “A study published in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry looked at 25 common varieties of microgreens and found that they generally have higher concentrations of healthful vitamins and carotenoids than their mature counterparts.”
