[Video] The Best Way to Kill Garden Weeds Naturally

My favorite way to get rid of the worst garden weeds – naturally and without chemicals…

Weeds, weeds, weeds! This time of year, it seems like all I do is pull weeds. Literally everywhere on the homestead needs weeding right now – from the garden weeds in the beds and aisles, to the hay bales, to the flower beds in front of the house, and everywhere around the house and deck.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by garden weeds, there are solutions that don’t involved spraying chemicals around your home and garden. However, even homemade “organic” weed killers are sometimes harmful to other plants and to the soil. Don’t use salt to kill weeds, and never use bleach! Vinegar solutions are only minimally effective, although they can be used for spot control.

If you just have a small area with a few weeds, weeding by hand is the best solution. However, if you are trying to control weeds in a larger area, there is one solution which is extremely effective and also very cheap… The video below from Misfit Gardening explains more.

We have used this solution around our yard and garden for several years now, and it really does work like a charm!

Note: You may need to pull some weeds initially if they are very tall, or use a weed-whacker to cut them short first. But once everything is in place, you shouldn’t have to do much weeding for the rest of the year!

An avid gardener since childhood, I love sharing my passion for gardening with others! I have gardened in a number of different climates and settings, from large fenced garden plots, to tiny patio and container gardens, and I firmly believe that everyone can learn to grow at least some of their own food - no matter where you live. Growing your own food can help you take control of your own health and food supply, and there has never been a better time to get started!
