For me, peppers are one of the joys of the summer garden – crisp, juicy, colorful, hot or sweet, I love growing peppers! You can grow all kinds of peppers in a beautiful range of colors, shapes, and sizes, with flavors varying from spicy and grassy, to sweet and fruity – and eveyrthing in between.

Assuming your weather is warm enough, and you have a long enough growing season, peppers are generally rather easy to grow, with relatively few pests. We have found that peppers grow very well for us in hay bales, where they enjoy the warm temperatures and avoid sitting in very wet soil – a common problem for us the past few summers.
